Koninklijke Paketvaart-Maatschappij (KPM 1888-1967) was a major Dutch shipping company based in the Netherlands East Indies (Indonesia). They maintained trade and transport connections between the islands of Indonesia and Japan, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. 

The Indonesian island of Java was home to the first and largest colonial settlement of Dutch from 1603.
