This is the promotional poster for the French opera by Henry Ferrier, created 25 years after the Art-Nouveau version created by iconic posterist Alphonse Mucha.
The play itself is set in 14th century Greece, which is fully depicted here using the architecture and nature of the country….colours chosen show the dark narrative and themes.
