La cigarette par excellence! Royale Cigarettes were launched in France in 1953 by SEITA (Societe Nationale d'Exploitation Industrielle des Tabacs et Allumettes) the state owned tobacco monopoly. SEITA also owned Gauloises and Gitanes (both launched in 1910).
