Transatlantique Liberte

The 'Liberte' was first known as the 'Europa', built for a German line in 1930. Seized by the US in 1945 and re-named 'USS Europa' she was used as a trooper carrier, but only for one year. She was returned to the French in 1946 and re-named 'Liberte'. Although she sunk once and suffered a major fire, she was refit and continued service until 1961. A busy ship indeed!
