Charbon Emprunt 1955

Artist:Dupuy

Year:1955

Measurements:120cms H x80cms W

This poster is conservation-backed onto linen, it has slight foldmarks and light printer’s mark near the lettering…none of which take from the integrity of the image.

The mining of coal stopped in France by the 2000’s, however, fifty years prior it was seen as the National Wealth particularly for their power and steel industries.

Here is a very clever…and ‘modern’ (for the time) image, a photo montage, using the carbon rock as the belly of their believed National symbol.
