It is thought that this extraordinarily rare life-drawing sketch was exclusively created for the catalogue or book that accompanied an exhibition of Villemot’s works.
Created in the sepia-toned bistre shade, often used for proofs by his mentors. Despite it being un-signed, this image is quintessentially Villemot. The woman at the centre is his signature style, strong line-work and simplicity.
