Quarez Fete des Tulipes
Artist:Unknown
Year:2001
Measurements:174cms H x117cms W
AU$2,200.00
It is believed that this exquisite and playful image advertising the TULIP Fair of St Denis is by the Master Posterist, ‘advertising Ambassador’ for the town, Michel Quarez.
Although this illustration is certainly in keeping with his style and colouration, there isn’t an example in any textbook, the fonts used and the way the feet are drawn is a definite departure…without a signature we will never be 100% sure.
Nevertheless, it is a fabulous image and one fortunate person should feel proud to own, with the mystery being an added talking point!
